Alicia Gutierrez

Alicia Gutierrez, Catechetical and Hispanic Ministry, Director. She has been ministering at St. Joseph Cathedral Since 2008. Married for 35 years with Enrique Gutierrez, their two daughters Alexandra and Marisol gave them 6 grandchildren. Serving Families, and preparing lessons that enable the families to become disciples of Jesus and grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith; provide diverse opportunities for prayer and worship is her principal goal. A passionate Master catechist since 1995 for the Diocese of San Diego, forming and training new catechists through the lens of missionary discipleship.  Speaker and workshops writer for the Diocese of San Diego. Love writing poems and articles for Southern Cross.  Enjoys celebrating with the community, Hispanic traditions and devotions such as Las “Posadas”, “El Via-crucis” ‘ “La Rosca de Reyes” also cultural Devotions as “Black Nazareno”’ Simba-gaby.”  Love to be involved in the multicultural community of Saint Joseph Cathedral.
