Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus Council 1349 is located in San Diego, California and is the third oldest councils in California. In 2008, we celebrated 100 years of service. Knights from our round table of churches make up our council’s membership.

We are a non-profit organization comprised of practical Catholic gentlemen, who perform a variety of community and charity activities. These activities include, but are not limited to volunteer services, charitable donations, church support, support for vocations, scholarships, Columbian Squires (our Youth organization), and College Councils. Pope Benedict XVI once said that the Knights of Columbus are the “fighting arm” of the church, in that we defend our faith, church, and clergy.  Most importantly, we work to change lives and save lives.

THE CAUSES WE SERVE

The Knights of Columbus and Council 1349 are proud to support causes which benefit the church, the community and the greater good.  We do so by supporting other well-known organizations such as

  • Special Olympics and other charities which benefit intellectually disable children and adults
  • Pro-life organizations such as the Council of Family and Life Services, Walk for Life, and 40 Days of Life
  • Veterans organizations such as the Wheelchair Mission
  • Seminarians are the future of the church and we actively support our future priests
