Bishop to Celebrate Mass July 5 as Cathedral Prepares for Expanded Mass Schedule Starting July 11

St. Joseph Cathedral will welcome Bishop McElroy to celebrate 11:30 am Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral this Sunday, July 5.

The Bishop has been celebrating Masses throughout the Diocese of San Diego for the reopening of the parishes, and will celebrate confirmations during the July 5 Liturgy. The Cathedral appreciates his support and all good he does for the Diocese.

With this news, parishioners and visitors should note that this weekend (July 5), the Cathedral will again have English Masses at 9:00 a.m. (with Fr. Peter Navarra) and 11:30 a.m. (with Bishop McElroy), and Spanish Mass at 1:30 p.m. with Fr. Peter.

We joyfully announce that AFTER THIS WEEKEND — beginning  July 11th — St. Joseph Cathedral’s NEW Mass Schedule will be as follows:

Saturdays starting July 11:

• 5:15pm

Sundays starting July 12:

• 7:00am

• 9:00am

• 10:30am

• 12:00pm (SPANISH)

• 5:15pm

The new schedule nearly restores the Cathedral’s Sunday and Saturday Mass schedule to its pre-Covid status.

Confessions will continue to take place every Tuesday in the Parish Office at 11:30 a.m. with social distancing measures followed.
