Blessed Easter everyone! Hope you are all still celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord! God gave us this season of joy to remind us that we aren’t followers of a man whose mission just ended on the cross but rather of a man who died on a cross and rose. Jesus resurrected and reassures us that we are also invited to this life of rebirth from our sins and suffering.
Tomorrow, April 27th, we will not be having a 9am Mass. Instead, all are invited to join us for our Mass of Confirmation at 10am. We are expecting a larger crowd so you might want to arrive early. We join in prayer with all the candidates, sponsors, and families of all being confirmed. We ask for the special protection of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in these final moments of preparation before they receive the beautiful Sacrament tomorrow. May their faith journeys not end after they receive the oil on their foreheads. May tomorrow’s celebration of Confirmation be the beginning of a lifelong journey of joys and struggles towards Christ. Please join us.
This Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday. We recognize the beautiful, endless mercy of Jesus and trust that there is nothing we can do to stop that overwhelming outpour of His unfathomable divine mercy. Praise be to God! We will have our regular confession time on Saturday from 4-5pm. There will be a special Divine Mercy celebration on Sunday inside the Cathedral beginning at 3pm. We will sing the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, pray the rosary and some other prayers, and we will also have a light reception in the Cafe afterwards. Please join us.
May our lives continue to proclaim the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is risen! Alleluia! Alleluia!
