From Bishop McElroy: “The death of Archbishop John Quinn on Thursday is a great loss for our local church. Archbishop Quinn was born in Riverside and served as a priest, auxiliary bishop and administrator of the Diocese of San Diego before becoming Bishop of Oklahoma City and then Archbishop of San Francisco. He was a wonderful friend and mentor to me. He always asked about the priests and people of San Diego whenever I visited him, and he treasured his years here as the foundation of his life and an immense grace.I ask your prayers for the Archbishop, his family and friends.”
